These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LawOnline.ca website (the "Site") and any marketing or web services provided by LawOnline.ca ("LawOnline," "we," "us," or "our"). 1. About LawOnline.ca
LawOnline.ca is a digital marketing agency based in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. We provide web design, search engine optimization (SEO), content writing, and custom software services exclusively to Canadian law firms. LawOnline is not a law firm and does not provide legal services, legal advice, or legal representation of any kind.
2. Eligibility
The Site and services are intended for law firms, lawyers, and legal professionals operating in Canada. By using the Site, you represent that you have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organization.
3. Services
LawOnline offers the following types of services to Canadian law firms:
- Law firm website design and development
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Legal content writing and blogging
- Website migrations and technical improvements
- Custom web software and tools
The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees for any engagement are set out in a separate service agreement or proposal signed by both parties. These Terms apply in addition to that agreement. In the event of a conflict, the signed service agreement prevails.
4. Use of the Website
You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any way that violates applicable federal, provincial, or local law or regulation;
- Transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or promotional material;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site or its related systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Site;
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the Site without our express written permission.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of LawOnline.ca or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Site content without our prior written consent.
Upon full payment for a completed project, LawOnline assigns to the client all intellectual property rights in the custom deliverables created specifically for that client, except for any pre-existing tools, frameworks, or third-party components, which remain subject to their respective licences.
6. Contact Form and Communications
When you submit the contact form on our Site, you are requesting a free website audit or an introductory conversation about our services. Submitting the form does not create a client relationship, retainer agreement, or any obligation on either party. A formal engagement begins only when a signed written agreement is in place.
By providing your contact information, you consent to receiving communications from LawOnline related to your inquiry, consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. LawOnline does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LawOnline.ca, its directors, employees, agents, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms or any service agreement shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to LawOnline in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
We use Google reCAPTCHA on our contact form to protect against spam. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
